RCI Safety Records
Reddinger Constructors Inc. has a strong commitment to an effective safety and accident prevention program. This program is backed by corporate management, administered by the company's field supervisory staff, facilitated by the field superintendent, designed and monitored by the corporate safety director. Day-to-day operations of the individual job site safety program is the responsibility of first line supervision.

Employees are evaluated on:
• Work ethics
• Skill level
• Attitude
• Willingness to assume personal responsibility for performing their work assignments in a safe and efficient manner

New Employees
Each newly hired employee, regardless of past experience, is required to wear a sticker on their hard hat, which identifies them as having less than 1 year with the company. The purpose of the sticker is that they may be readily identified on a job site in order that the more experienced personnel can help them out and ensure they are following company procedures to accomplish the task at hand. Within 6 months of their date of hire they must attend the U.S. Department of Labor 10-hour Construction Outreach Training Program, which is provided by one of the four Authorized O.S.H.A. trainers currently on staff.

New Employee Safety Orientation Program
Each newly hired employee must attend the employee safety orientation program prior to receiving a work assignment. The orientation program consists of everything from classroom lectures and first aid procedures to fire prevention, house keeping and fall protection requirements. To put it simple, our employees have to most up to date training and certifications in total job site safety.

Site Safety Meetings
Documented site safety meetings are conducted on a weekly basis on every project with mandatory attendance for all craft personnel. The superintendent or foreman utilizing material prepared in coordination with the corporate safety director conducts the meetings. The meetings are utilized as a primary channel of two-way communication between the company and employees regarding project safety. The subject for discussion must be current and related to actual items or problems on the project. Field personnel are encouraged to participate fully and voice their recommendations for improvements or constructive criticism of current practices. All items raised are channeled back through appropriate supervision for corrective action. All answers or feedback to questions are returned to the field personnel in a timely manner.

Lead Personnel Requirements
All newly hired or promoted foreman are required to attend the U. S. Department of Labor 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training Program, provided by our in-house trainers, within 6 months of the hire or promotion date. In addition, throughout the year continuing education classes are conducted for all lead persons and foreman at all locations.

Commencement of a Project
Prior to commencement of a project a mandatory, documented pre-job hazard analysis must be completed. All safety related concerns must be addressed in the pre-job hazard safety analysis. It must be reviewed, and signed by all personnel assigned to the job, and must be reviewed and signed by the safety department before the job commences. If new personnel are added to the job they must review and sign the pre-job hazard analysis before being allowed to go to work. If during the course of the project, a new hazard is introduced, work is stopped and a new hazard analysis is completed, reviewed and signed by all personnel. These hazard analyses are turned in weekly with the safety briefing reports and filed in the project file.

Equipment Safety
Every three months every cord-attached tool, every piece of fall protection equipment and every piece of rigging equipment is inspected, tested, tagged and documented to be in safe working condition by a properly trained craft person. Every day a pre-operational safety check and functional test of all operating controls is conducted on every vehicle and every piece of equipment within the corporation. These documented pre-operational check lists are turned in to the supervisor at the end of each day. The supervisor reviews each one and if any deficiency is noted arrangements are made immediately to have any problems taken of. Reddinger's mobile equipment program, which covers everything from a golf cart to a mobile crane, was revised this year to include the new requirements for fork lift operator training and hazard recognition. All employees receive both classroom and hands on training on all equipment prior to being assigned a task that would require the operation of mobile equipment.
